Turning Point- Housing Program

In this Program, we assist domestic violence victims relocate to safe affordable housing. While Turning Point does not provide the actual financial assistance, our Housing Coordinator and Housing Assistant collaborate with other agencies that do provide the needed financial assistance which can include rental deposits, utility deposits, and rent for 1-3 months. The agencies with whom we collaborate include Salvation Army, Community Action, Jobs & Family Services, Ohio Domestic Violence Network’s REACH Program, and a HUD grant for Transitional Housing.

The Housing Coordinator and Assistant meet with the survivors to assess their specific barriers to finding housing and then determine which funding program would best meet their needs. Funding is requested to change the part-time housing assistant to a full-time role.
