The Powell-Downtown Columbus Sertoma Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity corporation established in 1997 as the Powell Sertoma Club. Our mission is to improve the quality of life today for those at risk or affected by hearing loss through education and support. Our purpose is to meet the needs of communities through volunteer service. The Powell Sertoma Legacy Scholarship, ratified on October 12, 2016 by members, is a real life expression of our mission and purpose.
The scholarship provides the opportunity for graduating seniors from one of the Olentangy School District high schools, home school, or private school in Powell, Liberty Township (Ohio). Applicants must have lived in Powell, Liberty Township, for at least three (3) years.
Preference will be given, but not limited to, students majoring in a field of study that will lead to a career in speech pathology, audiology, communications or related health field. Scholarships can be renewable for the student’s undergraduate work.
REQUIREMENTS
* Must have GPA of at least 3.0 or higher on a 4 point scale or its equivalent;
* Must be enrolling full-time in an accredited university, college, technical, or trade school;
* Consideration is given to applicant’s financial need.
