Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate ESG, DEI, and SRI by understanding each framework’s purpose, investment philosophy, and typical implementation methods.
- Evaluate how each approach aligns with a community foundation’s mission and fiduciary responsibilities, including considerations for policy language, manager selection, and stakeholder expectations.
- Communicate these concepts clearly to boards and donors, enabling more informed discussions about values‑aligned investing, risk management, and long‑term portfolio impact.
CONNECT, LEARN, GROW
Fundraising Innovation helps nonprofits strengthen board engagement in development. It clarifies what board members are responsible for, breaks down the core components of fundraising, and emphasizes the importance of relationships. Participants learn how board members can support thanking, engaging, and cultivating donors, and how leveraging new technology and tools can improve donor retention, increase giving, and advance the organization’s mission.
