The Jennifer Lawrence-Kent Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Jennifer who passed away suddenly in 2015. A dedicated educator with the Olentangy School District for the majority of her career, Jennifer loved her job, her students, co-workers, and the community she served. She could often be found donning school colors, participating in school fundraisers and loved attending Friday night football games. She had a passion not only for teaching others, but for learning herself. Whether continuing her own education, working on a masters degree, or just taking a fun cooking class with her husband Chris, Jennifer loved to learn. She was dedicated to her students and forged long-lasting relationships with them and their families. Some of her students even participated in her wedding. Her goal was to inspire learning and show her students that with hard work, the sky was their limit. 

It is our hope that her spirit and love of teaching will continue to inspire students for years to come by awarding this scholarship to a deserving student whose desire it is to become an educator and continue her legacy of teaching.

REQUIREMENTS

* Must be a graduating senior from an Olentangy Local School District high school

* Must have a GPA of at least 3.0 or higher on a 4 point scale or its equivalent;

* Must be enrolling full-time in an accredited institution for a 4-year degree;

* Preference to students who plan to pursue Education.
