“The Ketterling Scholarship was established to honor a dear friend of education who passed away on March 27, 1996. Dick Ketterling has a total of thirty (30) years of experience in the automotive painting business. He has been a National Instructor with PPG.

He traveled extensively for PPG, presenting product training courses to over 8,000 participants in 31 states and 6 different countries. Dick specifically served secondary career readiness by teaching over 500 vocational teachers and educators. His background as college level Auto Body instructor served him well when he served as a national auto body judge for VICA, the career readiness Club of America youth organization.

Dick volunteered his time and talents to local youth organizations, as well. He served as a Delaware Athletic Booster, a board member of the Big Brothers-Big Sisters, an active levy supporter, and a soccer coach.

Dee Ketterling was employed as a Counselor, Career Education Director, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the Delaware Area Career Center from 1977-2002. She still is actively involved with the school, many community activities (Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, United Way) State and National Educational Associations, and does training for Honda and many local schools and community organizations.

Education and active community involvement are vital to both Dick and Dee. This scholarship will benefit a student yearly.”
